FAQs

How do I receive the photos?

All photoshoots include an online gallery with full printing rights, complete release, and access to high-resolution and mobile downloads. There are no additional charges for photo downloads or any other extras.

Is there a travel fee?

Travel is always factored into your proposal, with no additional charges for travel expenses. For destination wedding packages, my travel is already included. If you have specific travel arrangements or prefer to involve a travel agent for wedding guests, please reach out to me directly.

What is your photography style?

We specialize in capturing candid and natural moments with a touch of artistic flair. Our goal is to authentically document your day while accentuating the unique beauty of each moment. True-to-color images are our focus, with a photography style that's 25% posed and 75% photojournalistic. Synonyms for our style include candid, cinematic, narrative, story-forward, and more.

How do I secure my date and how far in advance should I book?

To secure your date, a signed contract and retainer fee are required, ensuring exclusivity for your day. We recommend booking as soon as your wedding date is confirmed, as popular dates fill up quickly. We currently accept bookings up to 2 years in advance.

Where do you mainly work?

We primarily shoot weddings and elopements within northern Michigan. We love having a few weddings downstate every year and a few further away as well. We love traveling and working with clients near and far.

How soon can we expect our photos?

Our turnaround time typically ranges from 6-8 weeks. However, we love giving you a sneak peek within a few days after the event, shared both with you personally and on our Facebook page.

How long have you been a wedding photographer?

I embarked on my wedding photography journey as an assistant in 2015. When my lead photographer closed her doors, I opened mine in 2019, and I've been joyfully capturing love stories ever since.

Kyle joined in 2020 after we had been dating and I needed a second shooter willing to come to a few elopements with me.

What is the easiest way to contact you?

Call, text, email. Texts and calls will get more urgent responses. Emails are typically 24 hours but with busier seasons, it can be longer.

How much time is spent on formal family photos at weddings?

Typically, we allocate about 15-45 minutes to capture a selection of family photos, limiting the formal list to under 12 combinations. If you have a specific request for a photo with your third cousin once removed, we can accommodate it at the reception. We adore capturing casual groupings during this relaxed time.

Can I receive all the unedited photos from our wedding?

No, you won't get any of those blink-and-miss moments. Rest assured, you'll receive all the carefully curated photos capturing the essence of your day. We take pride in our editing style, ensuring that every image meets our high standards. This question is frequently asked, and we're here to assure you of our commitment to delivering a polished and complete collection.

What if you fall sick on my wedding day?

Fortunately, I have a network of talented photographer friends I can call upon if needed. Thankfully, I've never encountered such a situation - knock on wood!

What are your unique quirks?

We are also a couple, like many of our clients. We both work remote jobs outside of shooting weddings. Our favorite place to eat is The Fitzgeralds in Eagle River, sorry if we talk about it. We do not have any children or pets but have a boat named Waterloo that is sufficient enough for us. Again sorry if we talk about her.

What are your favorite locations in the Keweenaw?

In Houghton, we love capturing moments in various scenic spots like the charming downtown area, the picturesque pier, the iconic bridge, and the captivating Quincy Mine.

On the Copper Island, you'll find an array of breathtaking settings. Our top picks include the stunning Great Sand Bay, the enchanting Eagle River, the scenic beauty of Eagle Harbor, the unique landscape of Gay Stamp Sands, and the natural wonders of Hungarian or Douglas Houghton Falls. These locations serve as the perfect backdrop for creating timeless memories."
