How do I get the photos?
All photoshoots come with an online gallery that grants you full printing rights, complete release, and access to high-resolution and mobile downloads. There are no additional charges for photo downloads or any other extras.
Do you charge for travel?
Travel is consistently considered within your proposal, with no extra charges for travel expenses. For destination wedding packages, my travel is included. If you'd like to manage any expenses or involve a travel agent for wedding guests, feel free to contact me directly.
What's your photography style?
We specialize in capturing candid and natural moments, while also adding a touch of artistic flair. Our goal is to document your day authentically while highlighting the unique beauty of each moment. True to color is our goal and 25% posing 75% photojournalist. Words you could use as synonyms for our style: candid, cinematic, narrative, story-forward, etc.
How do I book or reserve my date and how far in advance?
To secure your date, a signed contract and a retainer fee are required. This ensures that we reserve the day exclusively for you. We recommend booking as soon as your wedding date is confirmed. Popular dates tend to fill up quickly, so the sooner, the better. We book 2 years out in advance.
How involved are you in the wedding planning process?
I consistently highlight the flexibility of my involvement, ensuring it aligns with your preferences. Some clients opt for a close collaboration with their wedding planner, which works seamlessly. Conversely, others see me as a valuable resource, leveraging my expertise to actively contribute to the planning of their special day. For clients unfamiliar with the Keweenaw, Houghton, or the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, I play a significant role in providing assistance and insights.
How long does it take for us to receive our photos?
Our turnaround time varies 6-8 weeks, but we tend to share a sneak peak with you & on our Facebook page a few days after the event.
How long have you been a wedding photographer?
I started photographing weddings as an assistant in 2015. When my lead photographer closed her doors, I opened mine in 2019 and have been enjoying the love since.
What’s up with not posting minors?
Frankly, I find it quite bizarre that businesses often employ the faces of minors for marketing and exploitation purposes. Even the practice of mothers extensively sharing their kids on social media doesn't sit well with me. From a business perspective, a situation arose where a client requested to refrain from posting images of a child due to personal conflicts and concerns. This experience made me realize that such discretion should be the standard in business practices.
How much time do you spend on formal family photos at weddings?
We typically spend about 15 minutes capturing a few family photos. We like to have under 12 combos on a formal list. If you have a specific request for a photo with your third cousin once-removed, we can accommodate that at the reception. We love causal groupings come reception time.
Can I have all of the unedited photos you took at our wedding?
No sir! You'll receive all of the photos that we took of your day - Just none of the blinking & lame faces. We fancy our editing style and never deliver any images that are incomplete or meet our standards. This is a frequently asked question?
What happens if you get sick on my wedding day?
Luckily - I have a handful of photographer friends I can call upon if needed! This is yet to happen to me thankfully!

What are your skeletons in the closet?
Let me share a glimpse of what makes me distinctly myself. I am not a Michigander born and raised but have called it home for the last 5 years. You might notice a nose piercing and a prominently tattooed arm (although it's typically concealed for religious or more conservative weddings). Also, there's a unique scar on my neck – feel free to inquire about the time I had a face-off with a shark.
What are your favorite locations in the Keweenaw?
In Houghton, we absolutely adore capturing moments in various scenic locations. Our favorite spots include the charming downtown area, the picturesque pier, the iconic bridge, and the captivating Quincy Mine.
As for the Copper Island, it's a treasure trove of breathtaking settings. Our top picks are the stunning Great Sand Bay, the enchanting Eagle River, the scenic beauty of Eagle Harbor, the unique landscape of Gay Stamp Sands, and the natural wonders of Hungarian or Douglas Houghton Falls. These locations provide the perfect backdrop for creating timeless memories.
